White Spring – Welcome
Troms region, North Norway; an extraordinary area in that while most places on the 70° parallel are iced over or at best tundra for most of the year, Troms region enjoys a pleasant and sunny climate during the spring and summer months. Warmed by the Gulf Stream, this region of Northern Norway offers some of the most exciting winter and spring activities on the planet!
The amazing phenomenon of the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) can be seen in the skies on clear nights through the winter until early April.
White Spring can mean snow… and lots of it… so skiing or snowboard enthusiasts can enjoy some of Europe’s most spectacular yet unspoilt locations to indulge their passions.
The less physically adventurous can enjoy a wealth of other activities including guided sled and skidoo trips, animal and bird watching, photography, boat trips and exploration of the Sami Tribe culture, Norway’s nomadic and ancient reindeer herders.
From mid-April, the contrast of virgin white snow, blue skies and mirror-like ffords are without doubt one of the most beautiful sights in Europe. Without doubt, Troms region is one of Scandinavia’s best kept secrets. The range and quality of activities is tremendous, the people warm and friendly and the scenery simply breathtaking.
Within a few months the snow begins to recede and Troms region takes on yet another character during High Summer!
