Skidoo Treks

Helge and Oisten are experienced adventure guides who love to introduce guests to the great outdoors in the Troms Region. In the White Spring they arrange skidoo treks up onto the high mountain plateau that overlooks the Lyngen and Reisa areas.

Treks of 1 to 3 nights are arranged and guests sleep on reindeer skins in a large heated army tent (double lined). It's a real adventure and guests are taught how to care for this pristine arctic environment and how to survive.

It may be plus 20 degrees inside the tent and minus 20 outside.! Guests are encouraged to operate skidoos and can travel as a passenger. Northern Lights, fox and ptarmigan may be seen on these short but extremely exciting trips.

Start point.. Storslett. Access.. Flights to Tromso. There is a regular coach service from Tromso City to Storslett stopping at the Reisafjord Hotel. Cost approx £60pp return. Alternatively car hire is an option.

• Friendly family owned hotel with comfortable bedrooms all ensuite. Excellent food with a restaurant and bar.

• Situated overlooking the sea and harbour.

Day 1 Arrive Reisafjord Hotel, overnight.

Day 2 Meet guides, transfer to Reiser Valley and take skidoo trip to mountain tops.

Overnight in fully equipped tent. Meals provided. Skidoo tuition provided.

Day 3 Journey bak to hotel and overnight.

Day 4 after breakfast tour ends.
