The most northerly brewery in the world and one of Norway's oldest. Having a strong family tradition, the Mack Brewery provides a wide range of lager beers which are most popular with North Norwegians and visitors alike. The Oldhallen (Old Hall) is part of the brewery tour and serves beer and coffee from 9am to 5pm rather unique opening hours which are linked to an historic past. Short walk from the town centre.
GlassHytte... A unique glass works that creates works of art and classical gifts right in front of your eyes. Superbly entertaining and open year round, opposite the Mack Brewery and close to the city centre.
Fronting the harbour in the city centre, this delightful museum is a tribute to Norways rich arctic expeditions. All major polar expeditions departed Tromso and this museum explains the history perfectly. Lots of artifacts, extremely interesting and educational. Opening hours vary with the season.
A place of learning centred on Polar exploration, geology, climate and wildlife. King crab, wolf fish and bearded seals are studied here but also provide a great exhibition. Most enlightening and entertaining.

Villmark Centre.. Just 25 minutes from the city centre, it’s possible to include a day trip if you are city based. Pre booking is essential as longer treks take priority.
