A country house overlooking a scenic fjord on the island of Arnoy. Lauksletta Country House is family owned and operated by Jan, Elizabeth and Elin. Gourmet food is served using local fresh produce. Lauksletta has an excellent culinary reputation and enjoys a high level of repeat business.

Bedrooms are comfortably furnished and offer single, double, twin and family rooms. Bathrooms and toilets adjoin the bedrooms which are located on the first and second floors. A drying room is available in the basement.

Outside there are spacious grounds with a hot tub and unlimited walking opportunities.

Jan is an expert on botany and offers guided walks on this unique and beautiful island. A number of species grow no further north than this unique island of great natural and archaeological interest.

Activities:

Northern lights viewing can be quite spectacular here from November to March inclusive.

Cycles can be hired and with a fairly level coastal road this is an excellent location for safe cycling.

With a mountain backdrop and a sheltered fjord in front of Lauksletta the bird watching opportunities are excellent with Golden Eagle, Sea Eagle, Puffins, Ptarmigan, and numerous wading birds.

Fishing: The sea fishing here is amongst the best in Norway and there are fly fishing options in both the sea and inland lakes.

With such diverse terrain walking and hiking is available to suit all levels of fitness.
